Jack Connolly: Postcard from Sweden

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Minnesota Hockey Magazine ranked among the state’s most-read puck publications – then it went into hibernation. Today, some 20 years later, it woke from the slumber as a re-energized online source for Minnesota hockey coverage.

As part of its opening salvo, I caught up with former Hobey Baker Award winner Jack Connolly who is experiencing his first taste of professional hockey with a side of fish in Sweden. Check out the full story here.

  1. Interesting . . . Duluthian brothers living similar lives in Sweden and Finland. I hope they do become rivals in the competition for the European Trophy. Has to be interesting for Jack and Chris keep their familial connection AND compare experiences over Skype.

Especially neat to hear about the impact of the “bigger sheet” on the game and the intense level of play that Jack experiences with the Swedish Elite League. I’m quite certain that watching a game with that level of puck handling would be fascinating for all hockey fans.

    Fun read, Jay.

Too bad about the food ;>)

    Me, mom.
